Are you frustrated with your current life?

It’s time to create the life you want!

library-0003Does it seem to be dull, boring, stressful, too difficult, maybe you feel stuck. Is it just not what you expected it would be?

Yes, you heard me right. If you’re not happy with all or certain parts of your life, either change it or make peace with it.

You know the old adage, “If life gives you lemons, make lemonade.” Often times we feel like life has given us only sour lemons or the sour things of life.

This week is a perfect time to ponder, think, feel, visualize, imagine, create, then hand write (not type) your perfect vision.  The decisions you make this week will have the power to create a life you’ve always wanted.

I learned this has always been true for me. Every time, I have created the situation or thing in my heart and mind, before it showed up in my real world.

As I began to really understand my power to create, it got a little overwhelming and even a scary at times. I realized that I was asking other people, including God make my decisions for me.  I was asking other’s decide my fate because I didn’t trust myself.  I hadn’t been using this, the ultimate power tool God had given me of choice and agency. It was for me to use, for better or worse in my life.

“Everything can be taken from a man or a woman but one thing: the last of human freedoms to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.”
-Viktor E. Frankl

2015-10-31_20.19.43As I gradually learned that I was the captain of my ship, I wanted God to be my co-pilot.  That’s how God works. He doesn’t steer your ship for you, he gives you the rules, schooling on how to pilot, and gives suggestions, encouragement and support along the way, but He never takes the wheel.  You are the captain of your ship. Isn’t that so exciting!?

You get to create what you want with your life!

So, now the trick question is do you want to be happy or sad?

(2 Nephi 2:26-27)

26 And the Messiah cometh in the fulness of time, that he may redeem the children of men from the fall. And because that they are redeemed from the fall they have become free forever, knowing good from evil; to act for themselves and not to be acted upon, save it be by the punishment of the law at the great and last day, according to the commandments which God hath given.

27 Wherefore, men are free according to the flesh; and all things are given them which are expedient unto man. And they are free to choose liberty and eternal life, through the great Mediator of all men, or to choose captivity and death, according to the captivity and power of the devil; for he seeketh that all men might be miserable like unto himself.

You can begin using your super god like powers to create good things to happen in your life or bad things to happen to you and those around you, simply based upon what you believe is or will happen.

Take the time to really feel out each thought and decision. Imagine what it would be like if you had this in or as the big picture of your life.

Ffb_img_1453168109125rom an eternal perspective, is what I want bring me greater joy and peace or less? What will it take for you to get there? Now ask yourself these 4 questions:

“God loves me and wants what’s best for me. What does He see as the greatest plan for me?”

“How does God feel about this situation and the changes I want to make in my life?”

“Does God support me in getting this thing, situation, or changes in my life?”

“…men are. that the might have Joy.”(2 Nephi 2:25)

Clearly, God wants all of us, included you, to have joy! That’s the reason we are here. That’s why we were                        born! So, how does he want you to obtain that joy?

“How does He want me to change this situation into a positive, peaceful, loving, joyful place?”

Now, take the time to think, imagine, ponder, question, re-question, and pray about your decisions.

Next step, how can you gradually work towards that goal? In this video, I discuss with you steps to take to create a powerful action plan! Take the time to watch it and follow the steps that I’ve outlines. This exercise has the power change your life!

So your life is growing a bunch of weeds on top of rocks with a little fertile dirt underneath? Yeah, I’ve been there too. This is a picture is of a piece of land behind my home where I wanted to plant a garden. The before and after are a 20140524_092420perfect example of life.

As I tilled the soil up, all kinds of rocks and toxic weeds slowed and sometimes even stopped my progress without some help from others.  Eventually, I cleaned out the poisonous weeds, rocks, discarded concrete slabs, wire, decayed tools, and leftover bailing rope carelessly left by the previous owners.  The weeks of labor was intense, but eventually all the buried garbage was pulled and cleaned out. This step was essential to growing beautiful, tender plants.  before-after-garden

I then took the time to carefully plan. I knew that each plant would need something a little different in order to produce the best fruit.  Each would need a certain amount of sun, water and soil condition to grow to it’s fullest potential.

I decided on a plan of action, and I followed through with getting an enormous amount of fruit.

20160912_193340Likewise, it takes careful planning, hard work, and dedication through the harvest. Then… After my harvest, comes the time I work hard and long at preserving the fruits of my labor.  The work isn’t done until all the fruit is preserved.

Often times, we will put in half the effort. Maybe we’ll prepare the soil, plant the seeds and forget to water it, or maybe we let the weeds grow up, perhaps we allow the fruit to sit and rot on the ground after all the hard work and effort we put in.

Our dreams and goals take a lot of work to bring the library-0591goodness we want in life.  Everything that is good and eternal in this life requires a lot of time, patience, effort, struggle, work, and dedication.

This principle seems hard at first, but as we grow and learn, we come to understand that it is part of the joy. It is part of the plan of happiness.  It makes us strong, gives us compassion, helps us be humble, and gives us opportunities to learn and grow so we can be like our Heavenly Parents someday.

If in doubt, just think back about something you’re really proud of. Something that brings you the most joy, how much personal effort did you put into the creation of that thing or moment? The struggle heightens the joy, it helps us appreciate the fruits of all the hard work.
